April 25th Update

Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed Spring Break! Everyone seems eager to settle into the routine at 
school and is happy to be back in the classroom. This week, our topic was Spring Weather! This week's weather fit the bill with some sunny days and some rainy days. Our shared reading book was Let It Shine! We enjoyed making dirt pudding in speech group—complete with gummy worms. In Music Therapy group, we enjoyed playing the rain stick and hiding under the big umbrella when the stormy weather came. Mrs. Rosse also had a special rain cloud that got friends wet! The sunny weather means that we were finally able to enjoy some time on the playground! Enjoy some pictures from our classroom! Have a great weekend!

April 11th Update

This week was the last week of our Community Unit. We talked about cars and trucks. In Speech group we made cars- adding headlights to the front, brake lights to the back of the car and wheels on the bottom. They were ready to drive! The kids really enjoyed it driving on our road in the classroom. These cars still had to follow the rules of the road. Our shared reading book was Trucks and everyone enjoyed learning about different trucks. We took turns opening the flap to see what was inside each one.   We wrapped up the week by having some Easter fun before we head home for Spring Break.  Enjoy the week off!

April 4th Update

This week we continued our community helper theme! Students enjoyed exploring the grocery store, hair salon, garage/car repair shop, and vet. Our shared reading book is Caring For Your Pet.  The students were able to check our stuffed animal pets and make sure they are health.  The garage/car repair shop was a big hit- students had fun using the tools to make repairs to the car. In music therapy group, we had fun putting out the fire and working at the fire station.  Everyone worked hard on grocery shopping and finding food items on their list in the correct food category of our store.
