June 13th Update

This week, we had fun talking about the zoo and zoo animals. Our shared reading book was Let's Peek Inside the Zoo. In the speech group, we made giraffes and lions out of fruit. We have a lot of healthy snackers in the classroom, and fruit animals have been a hit this year! We also enjoyed our last Music Therapy/Speech group this Thursday. A special thank you to Mrs. Rosse and Ms. Conley for bringing all the creative and musical energy every week—it truly is the most fun 30 minutes of the week. This week, we were able to revisit all our favorite songs, dances, and instruments from the school year.

Happy Father's Day to all the classroom Dads!  Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

May 23rd Update

The rainy weather did not stop us from having a fun week at school. While it was a short week, we sure kept busy learning about bugs and tending to our seeds from last week. In speech group, we made bugs out of fruit; we were able to make bugs from oranges, grapes, bananas, and even some cookies and crackers. Everyone really enjoyed it. Our shared reading book was called Backyard Bugs. We also enjoyed some time on the playground and in the courtyard before the rainy weather arrived! Enjoy some pictures from our week at school.

May 15th Update

It's been another busy week! We talked about gardens this week. Some gardens have beautiful flowers, while others grow fruits and vegetables. Our shared reading book was Plant a Tiny Seed. We learned that plants need water, air, sunlight and soil to grow. In Speech group, we planted flower seeds. We hope to take good care of our seeds so they will start to grow. Everyone was also very excited to continue exploring the flower shop to pick and sort flowers and make bouquets. In Music Therapy group, friends took turns flying with the bee to different locations in our classroom. We took turns planting seeds in the garden, watering them, and being the sun! This week, being part of the marching ants was also a student favorite. The leader marched with the drum, and it was a fun way to target positional vocabulary.

May 9th Update

We've had a busy week preparing for Mother's Day!  I hope all the classroom moms enjoy their special day!  This week, we talked about baby animals and their mothers.  Our shared reading book was Little Blue Truck's Springtime.  Blue visits so many baby animals in his travels.  In Speech group, we enjoyed making comfy nests for the baby bird eggs.  In Music Therapy, everyone took turns tucking in the babies and saying goodnight.  We also took turns looking in the eggs to find the matching baby for each mommy.  Some eggs had birds, other eggs had baby snakes and turtles.  Everyone has also had fun trying T-Ball and Kickball in PE this week-  way to go!  The Art Show was this week and I was able to snap a picture of our Butterfly Art work that is on display.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and that all the moms have a wonderful Mother's Day!
