February 28th Update

Welcome back-  I hope everyone enjoyed the snowy February break!  This week, students have eased back into our school routine and seem happy to be back in the classroom.  Our theme for the week was "Clean & Dirty".  Students have had some fun at the laundry center and have even worked on matching socks and sorting big and small towels.  We have talked about the importance of staying clean by washing our hands, brushing our teeth, and taking a bath.  We have also had fun exploring other things that need to be washed like dirty dishes, pets/animals, and maybe even your car!  Our shared reading book was Brush Your Teeth Please. During speech group, everyone worked hard to clean those dirty teeth and making them sparkle with baking soda and a toothbrush.  During Music Therapy group, everyone had fun and helped scrub the dirt off the dirty dog.  They also enjoyed the instruments as always!

February 14th Update

Happy Valentine's Day!  We have had a lot of fun making valentines for classmates all week.  Each student picked something that they liked to create and share with their friends.  This week, our shared reading book was Little Blue Truck's Valentine.  In Music Therapy group, we have done a great job in sharing the instruments and taking turns.   For Valentine's Day, everyone enjoyed decorating cookies and making ice cream sundaes.  It was very exciting for all the kids to look at all the special Valentines from classmates and recognize who made each one for them.
