December 20th Update

 Merry Christmas to all!  It was a fun-filled week at school.  This week, we talked about Santa and reindeer.  Our shared reading book was Bear Stays Up for Christmas. In Speech group, we had fun finding treasures in the frozen Christmas Trees.  We also got to take turns riding in Santa's sleigh, going down the chimney and delivering gifts during Music Therapy group.  Thank you for sharing your children with us everyday, but especially during this time of year.  I wish you a  Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!

December 13th Update

 It was Gingerbread week here at school!  Students enjoyed our shared reading book- The Gingerbread Man.  In Speech group, we went on a Gingerbread Hunt and also pretended to roll and trace our classmates into cookies.  We had fun decorating our Gingerbread cookies too.  In Music Therapy, students took turns hiding in the "oven" and running out when she opened the door!  Students have also enjoys Music class during this Christmas season complete with playing instruments for elves and reindeer!

December 6th Update

 Happy December! We have had a busy week settling back into the classroom routine after the Thanksgiving Break.  The weeks in December always fly by and it is such an exciting time of year for the kids. This week's theme was Christmas Trees!  We targeted positional vocabulary- top, middle and bottom.  Our shared reading book was Little Blue Truck's Christmas. During speech group, everyone enjoyed frosting and decorating their Christmas Tree ice cream cone (turned upside down).  We also rocked around the Christmas tree during Music Therapy group, but not before everyone piled in the "truck" and went to the Christmas tree farm to cut it down.
